Elephant Orphan Rescue
Yesterday our teams were called to rescue a young female calf, aged between 1 and 2 months, from Laikipia. The calf had become separated from its family following a scuffle between an elephant and community members, after a woman was tragically killed by an elephant in the area. The calf has spear wounds and is understandably extremely stressed.
Our teams are doing all they can to help this youngster and the other orphans are playing an important role in ensuring the young elephant realises she is not alone.
We are grateful to all those involved in this calf's rescue.
